The Simpa Solar Home System is an integrated home energy system that includes an embedded keypad (Simpa Regulator) combined with the Progressive Purchase platform. The platform provides pay as you go solution for end-users. The hardware system includes a solar panel, battery for energy storage, lights, fan, and device charging ports. The software system (Simpa Revenue Management System) is a centralized solution in the cloud, accessible via SMS gateway and over the internet, for payment processing and accounts settlement.
Simpa Networks is headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
This product is currently distributed throughout India in 9 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha.
Simpa Networks employs payroll sales agents and has registered dealers who distribute the systems.
Customers of Simpa Networks in India sign two-year contracts. Payments are calculated on a daily basis and customers are obliged to buy at least 25 days’ worth of service every month. Users can choose how they want to distribute their payments over time, down payment, and ensuing payments are established with the distributors at the point of sale.
Initial payments range from 60 – 120 USD. Energy recharges start from 50 INR, which is equivalent to 0.66 USDConverted in May 2020. Depending on their energy needs, users can be eligible to receive from Urja Mitras (VLE) and Rural Sales Associates a small down payment of 26.5 – 40 USD (2,000 – 3,000 INR)Converted in May 2020, from the total cost of the Solar Home System.
