PlantVillage is an open access library on crop health.
PlantVillage is a user moderated Q&A forum dedicated to the goal of helping people grow their own food. It is an open resource that helps farmers solve plant-related questions.
PlantVillage will offer the Nuru app, a digital assistant to help farmers diagnose crop disease in the field, without an internet connection.
Work in progress includes drones, mobile spectrophotometry and testing use of satellites for smallholder farmers.
There is no specific target region. Users come from regions all over the world including Sub Saharan Africa, India, United States.
PlantVillage is a non-profit project and a collaboration between Penn State University and EPFL.
