StoveTrace monitors frequency of stove use, duration of each use and uses climate science to derive fuel consumption based on the temperature data. StoveTrace was developed to:

– Provide cookstove manufacturers and distributors with near real-time information about how stoves are used;

– Facilitate interventions that adjust to and follow up on the use patterns of homes and communities;

– Enable payments to rural households via carbon markets and climate funds to subsidize and encourage improved stove use.
