The Halisi Trolley is a transportable, fully solar-powered street food vending trolley. It has a solar panel, lithium battery, AC and DC charging system and a mobile phone charging component. It also has an interface that monitors the trolley’s temperature and its precise location. Developed by Zuhura Solutions, the product is still in the prototyping phase.

The Halisi Trolley is fully solar powered, providing energy for cooking and lighting. It is fitted with a solar panel, lithium battery, tamper-proof AC and DC charging system, a mobile phone charging facility and an interface to monitor both the temperature and location of the trolley. It is made from food-grade material and also features a storage area, waste bin compartment and LED lighting.

In partnership with Gearbox Kenya, Zuhura plans to have dedicated maintenance personnel. The Halisi Trolley has been designed so that replacement materials are locally available.

Lifecycle Disposal and warranty

The manufacturer estimates a lifespan of 5 years and plans to provide a warranty of 3 years. They have plans to refurbish the used trolleys and to make them out of easily recyclable material to allow for responsible disposal at end-of-life. ^{Interview with Manufacturer in 2020}
