The pedestal can be placed in any bathroom since it has internal storage. When it is full the bucket inside the WonderLoo is lifted out and emptied. The urine is connected to a separate storage tank. The separated faeces and urine can then be used as soil amendment and/or fertilizer. It is also possible to place the Wonderloo above an open pit. It is also recommended to add ash in the bucket after defecation to make the faeces dry faster and reduce smell.^{Interview with manufacturer}
