Biodôme du Maroc

Specially designed for rural farmers in Morocco, this composter and biodigester transform organic waste into biogas for energy purposes and organic fertilizer for crops.

Product description Brand name and product description

Designed by Biodôme and distributed in Morocco, composters and biodigesters are two separate units that convert organic waste into both biogas and organic fertilizer for lands and crops. The biogas can be used for general energy purposes and it can also power motors from water pumps, especially suitable for rural farmers. As waste can be managed on site, this system helps reducing organic domestic waste that represent the 70% of the trash while decreasing storage loads and the need to destroy waste.

Bidôme has improved the first system design with a new one that features an application to verify the composting process in real time.

Competitive landscape Similar products available on the market. May not be a comprehensive listing.

In Morocco, 90% of rural farmers use butane gas canisters, which will be the company’s main competitor. Additionally, there are currently no centralized services that collect and treat organic waste of households. Other available composters and biodigesters in Morocco are expensive and not targeted to lower income farmers. Interview with the representative
